Here's some documentation for the CB550 that I've downloaded here and there over the years. The wiring diagram is specific to a 76, but matched what I had on my bike. Of particular note is a jumper io the headlight bucket from Br/W to Bk. It's located on the schematic right under the Front Stop Switch, identified as Bk-tube. This was the missing piece to getting my electrical demons sorted out, and easy to miss on the schematic, especially if the jumper is missing on your bike.
